Magaly Rivera brings over 25 years’ experience in strategic planning, business development, and proposal management.  Prior to Mag Advisors, she was Vice-President of Development and Project Manager for Project LAMP at HITN – a national Latino public service television network.  Magaly garnered over $35 million in funding for HITN and played a major leadership role in bringing to this organization its largest multi-year grant win: the U.S. Department of Education Ready to Learn grant. During her 5 year tenure, she successfully oversaw and launched all development concepts and educational initiatives including, among others, National Cancer Institute’s Lifeline video series for Spanish speaking viewers, College Admissions 411, special career paths tv series featuring US Coast Guard and American Public University, JP Morgan Chase funded youth financial literacy entitled Banking on our Futuro, and cultural arts programs like Enlaces Cuba and a MET collaborative series, Contactarte for children.

In her previous corporate roles, she was International Director of Distribution and Promotions for Televisa, the prestigious Mexican media conglomerate.  As its Director, she played an integral role in elevating the international presence and achievements of Televisa to broadcasters worldwide by working closely with program and promotion directors to lead and develop in-country market launches which consistently increased audience ratings. Prior to Televisa, she worked for WCBS-TV for 10 years in a variety of roles.

As CEO & Principal Consultant, Magaly brings her unique understanding of new markets, strategic planning and industry analysis experience to assist minority businesses to grow and develop new products and services.   Her expertise and success in securing government and foundation funding have made her a go-to and sought out professional for fundraising. Her hands-on approach provides clients with an added professional level to fulfill their management needs. Her clients benefit from her direct participation and in the process, they gain in-depth knowledge for their day-to-day operations.  Her reputation has garnered Mag Advisors large corporations like British Broadcasting Corporation, Military Channel, Dow Jones, Prisa and small businesses like Derdau, Garden Cathay Resort, ASL Access, etc.

Magaly is a former SCORE Counselor for the Rockland County, New York Chapter and Board member for Women in Development NY. She sat on the Avon Advisory Council to initiate workshops on Business Fundamentals for Women. Currently she is Board Member and Treasurer for the Latino Public Radio Consortium.  Magaly has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Long Island University, is native Spanish with a basic knowledge of Portuguese.
