John Moreno-Escobar is a successful social entrepreneur, community leader and executive innovator. His passion for education equality and access to higher education for all, motivated him to get involved in several projects. A native “rolo” from Bogotá, Colombia, John founded his own non-profit organization, Latino Youth for Higher Education Program (LYHEP) in 2009, which main mission is to assist immigrant Latino students and families with the process of applying, preparing and paying for higher education in the United States.

John is dedicated to building cross-sector collaboratives between schools, community based organizations, higher education institutions, and government associations to increase Latino college attainment.

John recently was named as the president of the Colombian Education Fund (CEF)and initiative to help Colombian students in the world to access financial resources in order to pay for their studies.

Mr. Moreno had been interviewed by NY1News, BronxNet, NYTimes, El Diario la prensa and El Especialito.
