Ellen has more than 20 years professional experience in the non-profit sector with a background in management, strategic planning, fundraising and communications.

While earning her graduate degree in public administration from NYU’s Wagner School of PublicService in the early 1990s, Ellen did her internship at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Newark workingwith community organizations and parents to determine how to involve inner city parents inafter school programs. This led to a part-time position at the AT&T Foundation, where sheevaluated and recommended health and social welfare program proposals for funding.

Ellen went on to a nearly 15-year career at the March of Dimes national headquarters in WhitePlains, NY where she managed a worksite health education program in more than 50 companies across the US and launched a nationwide, hospital-based education/support program for families of sick babies.
When Ellen and her family moved for a sabbatical year to Israel in 2005, she provided pro-bonoconsulting to a variety of Israel-based youth service agencies.

Ellen is a founding executive of Yonkers Partners in Education, a nonprofit organization that partners with the Yonkers Public Schools to provide post-secondary access services to low income middle and high school students. Since its launch in July 2007, Ellen has overseen the development and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive program portfolio. Sheoversees program interventions and evaluation, manages the program staff and serves as liaisonfor external partnerships with higher education institutions and corporate funders. 

Ellen is on the board at Play Group Theater, a community, youth theatre in White Plains, NY. 
Ellen and her husband David Levy live with their three children in Edgemont, NY.
