Dr. Isasi is Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is an epidemiologist whose research interests focus on life course factors associated with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In particular, Dr. Isasi’s research examines psychosocial and biological factors that increase the risk of chronic disease in minority youth. She is Principal Investigator (PI) of the SOL Youth

Study, a multicenter study of Latino children examining cultural, familial and psychosocial influences of obesity and cardiometabolic risk. She is the PI of the Nutrition Activity and Health Study, a school-based study of adolescents attending public schools in the Bronx that examined factors influencing obesity and dietary choices. Dr. Isasi is also a co-Investigator in the Hispanic Community Health Study (HCHS/SOL), the largest study of Latino adults being conducted in 4 cities to examine risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. She is also co-principal investigator of the SOL Psychosocial Study, which conducted a comprehensive characterization of psychosocial factors in Latino adults participating in the HCHS/SOL to investigate their relation to chronic diseases.
