Pediatrics
Staten Island, NY
I am Almas Zane, a pediatrician in-training at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, NY. I own a Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) from India. My special interest in the nutritional and health care needs of children led me to work with the esteemed Dr. Thomas Hale, in the composition of the latest edition of 'Medications and Mothers' Milk'. Having worked as a physician in a developing country like India and serving people of the lower socio-economic strata, has blessed me with a unique understanding of the health and social issues that people from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds face. Here in the United States working with people of different communities has always been a special interest for me. It is inspiring, motivational and moving to see the cultural diversity that make us unique, and yet the similarities that eventually make us all ONE. As a pediatrician, I work with children of different communities everyday. The majority of them being of the Latino community. In my years to come, I wish to be actively involved in the care of Latino children, to contribute in making them healthy, wholesome adults, and to serve the community, ever-learning in the process.
