Executive Producer & Host of "Afro-Latino Travels with Kim Haas" // Founder, losafrolatinos.com
Kim is the Executive Producer and Host of Afro-Latino Travels with Kim Haas, a new travel series on public television, airs with a two-part special featuring Costa Rica on PBS stations. This series shines a light, honors, and celebrates the historical and cultural contributions of Latin America’s African descendants, hosted by tri-lingual, Black female traveler. Kim is a member of Delta Sigma Theta. One of Kim Haas' great passions is the study and celebration of Latino culture with a particular interest in Afro-Latino culture. She is the founder of the blog: Los Afro-Latinos (www.losafrolatinos.com) which follows the Afro-Latino experience interviewing Afro-Latino filmmakers, writers, chefs, artists, Kim's interest in Afro-Latino culture began years ago as an active member of Encuentro, a Philadelphia based organization that promotes the achievements of individuals of African descent throughout the Americas. She speaks fluent Spanish and Italian, as well as conversational Portuguese. Her love of Latino culture and travel began when her grandmother introduced her, at the age of 8, to the wonders of travel during a trip to Acapulco, Mexico. During her junior year of undergraduate studies, she lived in Seville, Spain with a Spanish family. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees, University of Pittsburgh and LaSalle University, in Spanish language and culture. Continuing to pursue her love of languages, travel, and television, Kim began working as a Research Coordinator for the Discovery Channel's destination travel show, "Travelers." Her fluency in Spanish and Italian, combined with her extensive travel experiences and contacts, provided insightful and interesting content for "Travelers" Latin American and European episodes.

As Director of Marketing for WWSI TV Telemundo, an affiliate of the Spanish language network, Kim helped launch Philadelphia's only Spanish language station which included interviews with Latino singers such as Willy Chirino, Tito Nieves, Luis Enrique, and Tito Puente, Jr.  In 2004, Kim combined her passion for languages with her love of media and communications to form  Haas Media LLC. The company provides public relations and communications services in the Greater New York City area.
